Alberto González Amador Files Lawsuit Against Más Madrid Spokesperson for Defamation

Alberto González Amador, a figure embroiled in controversy, has initiated a conciliation lawsuit against Manuela Bergerot, the spokesperson for Más Madrid in the Assembly of Madrid. This legal action follows statements made by Bergerot on October 23 during a Telemadrid program, as well as a tweeting in which she labeled him a 'delinquent.'

The crux of the lawsuit revolves around Bergerot's demand for public retraction of her statements, specifically requesting that she appear on the Telemadrid program 'Buenos Días Madrid' to correct her remarks about González Amador. In response to the lawsuit, Bergerot took to social media to criticize the action, claiming, 'I just received a lawsuit from Ayuso's boyfriend, and he intends to ask for 20,000 euros. This is a lawsuit to try to silence us so that we do not say what all of Spain already knows. Mr. Amador, you already have enough work in the courts to be filing lawsuits. Watch out with Quirón,' she tweeted.

The lawsuit seeks not only a public retraction but also demands the removal of her controversial tweet from October 23, 2024, in which she asserted, 'The president's boyfriend is a delinquent; he has confessed it himself.' Bergerot went further to allege that González Amador had engaged in fraudulent behavior, including defrauding 350,000 euros from the tax office and misappropriating funds from Rolex watches and trips alongside the president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

In addition to the retraction and tweet removal, the lawsuit warns Bergerot against further defamatory conduct, urging her to refrain from spreading any false, degrading, injurious, slanderous, or offensive statements about González Amador. It emphasizes the need for immediate and public retraction through any channel or means of communication, stressing the importance of protecting the fundamental rights of Alberto González Amador.

Should Bergerot or any associated parties continue with similar conduct, the lawsuit highlights that stricter legal measures may be enacted to safeguard those rights. The situation sheds light on the contentious political landscape in Spain, where allegations and counter-allegations are becoming increasingly prevalent. Ultimately, the outcome of this lawsuit could have implications not only for the individuals involved but also for the wider discourse surrounding political accountability and freedom of expression.
