Alice Weidel Re-elected as AfD Co-Chair: Party Gearing Up for New Elections

Alice Weidel wasted no time in addressing the government, calling for new elections during her welcoming speech at the AfD federal party conference in Essen. The 566 delegates in attendance overwhelmingly backed her stance, with nearly 80 percent of the votes securing her re-election as co-chair alongside Tino Chrupalla. Chrupalla also saw significant support from the delegates, receiving just under 83 percent of the votes. The AfD leadership's clear confirmation at the conference has set the party on course to pursue its primary goal of governmental responsibility, buoyed by strong results in the European and local elections. With the leadership team in place and renewed momentum, the AfD is preparing to make its mark in upcoming elections.
