Amazon Web Services Outage Disrupts Multiple Online Services Globally
      
      On Monday, a significant outage at Amazon's cloud computing division, Amazon Web Services (AWS), caused widespread disruptions across various online platforms. The company acknowledged 'increased error rates and latencies' affecting several of its services in the USEAST1 region, according to a status update provided on its website. No further details were released by AWS or parent company Amazon regarding the specifics of the outage.
Among the services impacted were Amazon's own platforms, including Amazon.com, Prime Video, and Alexa, all of which experienced performance issues. Additionally, various third-party services reported similar disruptions as a direct result of the AWS outage. Notably, Venmo, a widely used payment service under PayPal, faced interruptions, causing frustration for users trying to manage transactions. 
The AI-focused startup Perplexity also reported that it was temporarily unavailable due to the ongoing problems with AWS. Perplexity's CEO, Aravind Srinivas, took to social media platform X to inform users: 'Problems were also reported by Perplexity, and the cause is an issue with AWS. We are working to resolve the problem.' 
Cryptocurrency exchanges, like Coinbase, experienced disruptions as well, underlining the extensive reach and impact of the AWS outage on various sectors and services that rely on cloud computing infrastructure.
