Avanza en Libertad Joins Forces with SALF for Castilla y León Elections
The political landscape of Castilla y León is seeing new alliances as Avanza en Libertad, a coalition featuring former Vox representatives, announced their collaboration with the Se Acabó La Fiesta SALF party, led by attorney Lucía Echevarrieta. This partnership comes ahead of the critical elections set for March 15, 2024.
Echevarrieta, a specialist in Administrative Civil and Banking Law, brings a fresh perspective to the table. Recently appointed president of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Burgos, she is also a member of the Governing Board of the Illustrious Bar Association of the city—both positions demonstrating her legal expertise and commitment to local economic development. As articulated by Avanza en Libertad, this alliance integral to the party's political strategy, aims to solidify a strong presence in the Cortes of Castilla y León.
Javier Teira, the president of Avanza en Libertad and former Vox representative for Salamanca, emphasized the urgency of having political forces dedicated to representing the region's interests. "What is essential is to have political forces in the Cortes of Castilla y León that prioritize the welfare of the region rather than indulging in mere political tactics aimed at advancing personal ambitions towards Moncloa," Teira stated. He is set to lead the candidate list for Salamanca in the upcoming elections.
Se Acabó La Fiesta (SALF) hopes to build on its previous efforts in the political arena. The party barely missed out on gaining seats in the regional elections of Aragón and is looking to capitalize on its initial momentum following the 2024 European elections, where they secured two deputies. However, internal conflicts have emerged, with several deputies publicly at odds with their leader, Alvise Pérez, even going so far as to report him to the Supreme Court for alleged harassment. Despite the controversies, the coalition is eager to position itself prominently in the challenge ahead.
As these political dynamics unfold, the coalition of Avanza en Libertad and SALF aims to offer voters in Castilla y León a compelling alternative that champions regional interests, steering away from the frequent political maneuvering seen in current governance.
