BBVA's Enhanced Offer for Banco Sabadell Approved by CNMV
The National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has approved BBVA's enhanced offer for Banco Sabadell as of Thursday. Shareholders of Banco Sabadell now have until October 10, inclusive, to accept this offer. According to a relevant announcement from the CNMV, the modification of the bid's characteristics was authorized, which initially had been approved on September 5. Under the new terms, the compensation will be entirely in shares, substituting for the previous offer structure. Specifically, shareholders will receive one new share of BBVA for every 48.376 shares of Banco Sabadell they hold.
BBVA submitted its request for this revised offer to the CNMV on Monday, leading to the suspension of the acceptance period that began on September 8, until the CNMV could approve the prospectus. With this approval now granted, shareholders are encouraged to consider their options ahead of the extended acceptance deadline.
