Brigadier General Venancio Aguado de Diego Appointed Secretary of Economic and Social Recovery in Valencian Community

In a significant move to bolster the reconstruction efforts in the Valencian Community, Brigadier General Venancio Aguado de Diego has been appointed as the Secretary of the Autonomous Cabinet of the Vice President for Economic and Social Recovery. This decision comes as President Carlos Mazón seeks to enhance the region's recovery initiatives following the devastating effects of DANA (Severe Drought and Flooding Events).

Brigadier General Aguado de Diego, who retired in March 2020, becomes the second military officer enlisted for this vital role, highlighting the administration's emphasis on disciplined and strategic recovery efforts. He will join the newly established vice presidency led by Francisco José Gan Pampols, tasked with coordinating actions to drive the region's economic and social revival.

Aguado de Diego brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having graduated in Mountain Troop Command and served in various specialized units in Jaca, San Sebastián, and Pamplona. His military career is marked by significant international responsibilities, including deployment on NATO missions in Kosovo, where he served as Chief of Operations for the AGT Aragón, and in Afghanistan as part of the Future Operations Section of the Multinational Brigade in Region W. Additionally, his leadership was instrumental as he commanded the Eastern Sector of the United Nations mission in Lebanon in 2017.

This appointment is expected to lend considerable expertise to the Valencian government's recovery strategy, focusing on both economic growth and social stability. With Aguado de Diego’s multifaceted background in military operations and crisis management, his leadership may prove pivotal as the region navigates its recovery path, ensuring that efforts are both practical and effective in addressing the needs of the communities impacted by recent challenges.
