Casa Marcial Achieves Three Michelin Stars in 2025; Spain Celebrates Culinary Excellence
Casa Marcial, a culinary gem located in Arriondas, Asturias, has been honored with the prestigious three Michelin Stars at the 2025 gala held in Murcia. The event recognized not only Casa Marcial but also 15 other establishments that have maintained their triple-star accolades. Brothers Esther and Nacho Manzano were on hand to accept the esteemed ‘tristar white jacket,' celebrating the milestones of their family, including their nephew Jesús, who works in the restaurant's kitchen, their sister Sandra, acclaimed as the best dining room manager in Spain, and their father Marcial who laid the foundations for this family-run establishment.
"We didn’t expect it; we are extremely happy," expressed Nacho Manzano, noting the heartfelt ovation they received from fellow professionals at the gala. This recognition is particularly meaningful for the Manzano family, as it highlights the enduring legacy of a restaurant that has been a vital part of Spanish gastronomy for decades.
Nestled in the breathtaking Asturian landscape, Casa Marcial presents a thoughtfully curated menu and three distinct tasting menus inspired by local nature: Nordeste El Cachucho, Nordeste El Fitu, and La Salgar. In recognition of its commitment to sustainable practices, the establishment also received a Green Star, underscoring its dedication to responsible management.
In addition to Casa Marcial, several new entries have emerged in the two-star category for the Michelin 2025 awards. The new two-star establishments include Levante in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz), Lú Cocina y Alma in Jerez (Cádiz), and Retiro Da Costiña in Santa Comba (A Coruña).

Notable new one-star restaurants include Ama in Tolosa (Guipuzkoa), Ibai in San Sebastián (Guipuzkoa), and Casa Arcas in Huesca. Other one-star recipients span across cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, and Cádiz, reflecting the vibrant culinary landscape of Spain.
Moreover, the prestigious Green Stars were awarded to several restaurants, highlighting those that excel in sustainability. Awardees included Bistrot 1965 in Castelló d'Empúries and El O Secadeiro in A Coruña.
The gala not only highlighted restaurants but also individual talent, with José Luis Paniagua of Atrio in Cáceres being honored as Best Sommelier.
