Chinese Robot Manufacturers Disrupting European Market with Competitive Prices

The fact that electric cars from China are offered much cheaper in the EU than those produced here has sparked a customs conflict with an unclear outcome. Now Chinese companies have discovered another business area in the EU for themselves and are causing a stir in the industry. Susanne Bieller, Secretary General of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), told Handelsblatt that Chinese providers are pushing into the European market and standing out with their competitive prices. According to Mladen Milicevic from the Paderborn automation startup Unchained Robotics, which operates a robot sales platform, Chinese robot manufacturers are generally 20 to 30 percent cheaper than the European ones. The price differences, as noted by Werner Hampel, head of department at the German Robotics Association, can even reach up to 50 percent. The influx of Chinese robot manufacturers into the EU market is creating a significant disruption, prompting European companies to reevaluate their pricing strategies and competitiveness in the face of this new competition.
