The body of Father Paolo Dall'Oglio, an Italian Jesuit priest who was kidnapped in Syria in 2013, has reportedly been found in a mass grave in the country. According to the weekly magazine Oggi, the corpse, believed to be that of Father Dall'Oglio, was discovered near Raqqa. This announcement was made by the bishop of Qamishli and has been confirmed by Cardinal Mario Zenari, the apostolic nuncio in Damascus. Cardinal Zenari stated, 'I was informed last night,' as the news of the tragic discovery begins to surface. Father Paolo Dall'Oglio was known for his strong advocacy for peaceful coexistence and dialogue in the region, and his disappearance in 2013 sparked widespread concern and outrage, as well as calls for his release by various international organizations.
