Hungary Approves NATO-Ukraine Plan Without Participation or Veto
Hungary has approved the planned expansion of NATO support for Ukraine without direct participation or veto. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that Hungary will not contribute financially or personnel-wise to the project but will also not hinder its progress. Prime Minister Viktor Orban assured that Hungary will not obstruct any decisions made by NATO that are supported by other member states. Despite differing views on how to achieve peace in Ukraine, Hungary recognizes the significance of opposing opinions within the Alliance. The new NATO project will focus on coordinating arms deliveries and training activities for the Ukrainian armed forces, with a launch expected at the next Alliance summit in Washington in July.
