Introducing the CUPRA Tavascan: The Future of Electric SUVs in Sweden
Take the chance and be one of the first to test drive the new Cupra Tavascan! In recent years, the number of new electric car models around the world has skyrocketed, with most car manufacturers now emphasizing battery range, size, and sustainability goals. CUPRA, the youngest brand within the Volkswagen Group, stands out with its unique focus on performance and design.
The Tavascan is CUPRA's first electric SUV and serves as the brand's second electric car following the CUPRA Born. Helena Sjöberg Tufvesson, the Marketing Manager at CUPRA Sweden, expresses, "For car enthusiasts, the Tavascan has everything that the Swedish market demands: a fully electric powertrain, all-wheel drive, and ample space in both the cabin and cargo area. The design is striking, leaving many in awe. Tavascan is the car for the new generation of car enthusiasts."
This electric vehicle is now officially available in Sweden, making it accessible to all eager drivers. Built on Volkswagen's versatile MEB platform, the Tavascan shares its foundation with other popular group electric models, including the Volkswagen ID.4 and the Audi Q4 e-tron. Helena adds, "We position ourselves in the segment between volume and premium, offering an exciting alternative to traditional premium brands. We're a strong addition to the Volkswagen Group with our distinct brand identity and compelling product lineup."
CUPRA Tavascan impresses with its sporty design, powerful performance, and remarkable safety features. It comes in two versions: a rear-wheel drive variant with 286 horsepower, and an all-wheel drive VZ version with 340 horsepower. Regardless of the variant, drivers can expect a thrilling driving experience, enhanced by selectable adaptive chassis control, known as Sport DCC, and progressive steering.
When it comes to range, the rear-wheel drive version can achieve an impressive 565 kilometers, while the all-wheel drive variant can travel up to 518 kilometers, according to WLTP standards. With its 77 kilowatt-hour battery, charging capacity of 11 kilowatts AC, and fast-charging capabilities, the Tavascan offers the convenience of charging from 0 to 100 kilometers in just seven minutes. Helena emphasizes, "This fast-charging feature allows drivers to replenish quickly and easily when they're hitting the road."
Additionally, the Tavascan is well-equipped as standard, with options for personalization. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a brisk 5.5 seconds, and offers practical facilities for towing and roof racks. The cargo area boasts a generous volume of 540 liters, and the rear seats can be folded and split for extra space. The interior showcases luxury and sustainability with materials made from recycled resources.
Safety is paramount, and the Tavascan comes loaded with advanced driver assistance systems, including the innovative Connected Travel Assist and a head-up display with augmented reality for enhanced focus. Drivers will also enjoy a standard 15-inch infotainment display, a new human-machine interface (HMI) display and control concept, wireless FullLink connectivity, and an advanced round sound experience with a 12-speaker system from Sennheiser.
