Israeli Military Launches Strike on Gaza Hospital, Claims Target was Hamas Command Center
The Israeli army has confirmed reports of a striking rocket attack on a hospital building in the northern Gaza Strip, identifying the Al-Ahli hospital as a crucial site for Hamas operations. According to military sources and the domestic intelligence service Shin Bet, the facility was reportedly used as a command center where members of the Islamist organization planned and executed attacks targeting Israeli civilians.
In a statement, the Israeli army emphasized that it took measures before the attack to spare civilians and minimize damage to the clinic. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the strike, although significant portions of the hospital, including its emergency room, were destroyed.
Hamas, along with the Palestinian foreign ministry, has condemned the attack, accusing Israel of systematically destroying the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip amidst ongoing hostilities. They argue that such actions exacerbate the humanitarian crisis already prevailing in the region.
In a separate series of Israeli airstrikes on the same day, a reported ten individuals were killed, according to Palestinian sources, although Israel has yet to respond to these claims.
The conflict remains deeply rooted and highly complex, with each side accusing the other of human rights violations and incursions on civilian life. As hostilities continue, the plight of ordinary citizens in Gaza and the ongoing geopolitical tensions remain at the forefront of international concern.
