Italy's Consumer Price Index Shows Stability Amid Rising Costs

The consumer price index for the entire nation, excluding tobacco, remained stable in October on a monthly basis, while showing an increase of 0.9% on an annual basis compared to 0.7% from the previous month, according to preliminary estimates released by ISTAT on Thursday.

The national statistics bureau further indicated that prices for household essentials, known as the "shopping trolley" index, experienced an upward trend in October.

Specifically, the prices for food, household items, and personal care products accelerated significantly on a year-over-year basis, rising from 10% to 22%. Additionally, products that are frequently purchased saw a substantial increase in prices, climbing from 5% to 10%, as reported by the national statistics agency.

These trends reflect the ongoing pressures on consumer prices, driven by various economic factors, which consumers are increasingly feeling in their daily lives.
