Juventus Set to Replace Thiago Motta with Igor Tudor Following Disappointing Run
Thiago Motta is expected to be replaced as Juventus coach by Igor Tudor, according to club sources reported on Sunday. The Italo-Brazilian former Inter player, aged 42, has witnessed his hopes for the Champions League and Italian Cup vanish recently. Juventus faced a shocking 4-0 defeat against title contenders Atalanta, marking their heaviest home loss since 1967, followed by a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of eighth-placed Fiorentina.
As a result, Juventus has dropped to fifth place in the title race, prompting club insiders to speculate that Motta’s time as head coach is coming to an end. The sources indicate that Tudor, a 46-year-old former manager with experience at Udinese, Verona, Marseille, and Lazio, is set to take over the coaching duties.
Tudor, who spent the majority of his playing career as a defender with Juventus, could be announced as the new coach as early as Sunday evening. He is expected to lead the team in their next match at home against 12th-placed Genoa next Saturday. The anticipated shift reflects Juventus' urgent need for a turnaround after a series of disappointing performances this season.
