Kosovo's Prime Minister Blames Serbia for Terrorist Attack on Key Water Infrastructure
On November 29, an explosion hit the IberLepenc water canal, a vital supply line for Kosovo's two main coal power plants. In response to this incident, Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti condemned the act, labeling it a criminal and terrorist attack orchestrated by neighboring Serbia. Kurti underscored the severity of the damage, emphasizing that the water canal represents perhaps the most crucial infrastructure in Kosovo. Fortunately, the explosion did not result in any casualties. However, local authorities have warned that some regions might face electricity shortages on November 30, while the capital, Pristina, could experience a lack of drinking water as repairs are underway. The situation remains tense as Kosovo deals with the aftermath of this significant incident.
