Legal Proceedings Commence Against Real Madrid Defender and Former Teammates in Sexual Content Case
The Court number 3 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in Gran Canaria has initiated an oral trial against Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio, along with former players of the club's subsidiary, Ferrán Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez, and Andrés García. They are accused of distributing sexual content videos involving two young women, one of whom is a minor, without their permission.
According to the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, Judge requires Ruiz, Rodríguez, and García to each deposit bonds of €20,000, while Asencio is required to provide a bond of €15,000. This disparity stems from the fact that while all four are accused of circulating the videos, Asencio is not charged with being an author of the recordings, unlike the others.
The prosecution is seeking a prison sentence of two and a half years for Raúl Asencio for sharing a sexual video that features a minor and another young woman without consent. This development was first reported by Cadena SER, which revealed that the public prosecutor has filed formal accusations in a case that has garnered significant media attention in the Canary Islands, dubbed the Real Madrid youth players case.
The prosecution's claims assert that Asencio is implicated in two crimes against the privacy of the young women involved in the consensual encounter. In addition to this, the charges against Ruiz, Rodríguez, and García include the distribution of child pornography due to one of the girls being a minor.
This case highlights pressing issues regarding consent, privacy, and the responsibilities of individuals in the public eye, emphasizing the need for accountability in matters of sexual content and the well-being of minors. As the legal proceedings unfold, the implications of these accusations reach far beyond the football field, resonating with societal concerns about the treatment of women and the safeguarding of minors within sports and celebrity culture.
