Legal Proceedings Initiated Against Mexican Intern Amid Nacho Cano Controversy

The Court of Instruction number 22 in Madrid has initiated preliminary proceedings against Lesly Guadalupe O, a Mexican intern who filed a complaint against renowned producer Nacho Cano. The case centers around allegations of conditional threats, reportedly stemming from an attempted demand of approximately 6,000 euros to prevent legal action after her expulsion from the musical show "Malinche." According to a ruling obtained by Europa Press and reported by Infobae, Lesly is set to appear as a party under investigation on December 12 at 12:00 PM.

Initially, she was expected to testify before Judge of Instruction number 19 in Madrid on October 28, concerning her allegations about an irregular work situation faced by around twenty Mexican students involved in the production. However, that hearing was canceled when Lesly appeared at the court without legal representation.

The controversy surrounding Nacho Cano escalated when he was arrested on July 9 on suspicion of committing offenses against the rights of foreign citizens and violating labor rights. These developments raise significant questions about the treatment of foreign workers in the entertainment industry and the legal protections available to them. As the case progresses, it will be closely watched for its implications on labor rights and the responsibilities of producers in Spain.
