Maradona Death Trial Annulled Amid Scandal of Unauthorized Documentary
The trial surrounding the death of legendary footballer Diego Armando Maradona has been annulled due to a scandal involving one of the judges filming an unauthorized documentary about the case. The shocking announcement was made on Thursday by Maximiliano Savarino, one of the judges of the San Isidro court, who outlined the legal fallout resulting from the improper actions of Judge Julieta Makintach.
Savarino revealed that the trial proceedings will be declared null and void, necessitating the appointment of new judges. Along with fellow judge Verónica Di Tomasso, he suggested that it would be prudent for the trial to be relocated to a different court to ensure impartiality and integrity in the judicial process.
Maradona, revered as one of the greatest football players in history, passed away on November 25, 2020. His untimely death occurred in an apartment in Tigre, near Buenos Aires, shortly after he was released from a clinic post-surgery.
