Melania Trump Denies Links to Jeffrey Epstein in Unusual Press Appearance
In a rare public appearance, Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, vehemently denied any close relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. Her statements come amid renewed scrutiny regarding the connections between various public figures and Epstein, who has been accused of heinous crimes.
The First Lady emphasized her innocence while addressing the media at the White House, marking her first comments on the matter since last year. "The lies linking me to the infamous Jeffrey Epstein must end today," she stated firmly. Melania sought to clarify the nature of her relationship with both Epstein and Maxwell, asserting, "I never had any relationship with Epstein or his accomplice Maxwell."
In her remarks, she highlighted that her husband, President Donald Trump, and she simply attended some of the same social gatherings in New York City and Palm Beach, a common occurrence in their circles. "To be clear, I met my husband by chance at a party in New York City in 1998; Epstein did not introduce me to Donald Trump," she expounded.
Melania recounted that her first encounter with Epstein occurred in 2000 at an event attended alongside President Trump, distancing herself from any knowledge of his illicit activities at the time. She reiterated, "I had no knowledge of his criminal activities."
The First Lady criticized the numerous images and statements circulating on social media that linked her to Epstein, categorizing them as completely false. "My name has never appeared in court documents, affidavits, victim testimonies, or FBI interviews related to the Epstein case," she insisted. "I had no knowledge of the abuses committed by Epstein against his victims. I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant. I was never on Epstein's plane nor did I visit his private island."
Wrapping up her address, Melania Trump called on Congress to provide a public hearing for the women who have been victims of Epstein, emphasizing the need for further illumination on such an important issue. Her public defense comes at a pivotal moment as societal interest in the Epstein case and its implications continue to resonate deeply in the American consciousness.
