Minister of Education Responds to Judge's Ruling on Information Leak Case

On Tuesday, Minister of Education Pilar Alegría addressed the media regarding the recent ruling by Judge Hurtado, which implicates Moncloa in the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information linked to Isabel Díaz Ayuso's boyfriend. In a press conference following the Council of Ministers meeting, Alegría dismissed the judge's ruling as mere speculation, emphasizing the necessity of evidence in a law-governed state. "Accusations must be based on evidence, and here there is none," she asserted.

Alegría's remarks come after it was revealed that the judge is investigating Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz for his potential involvement in leaking information about Alberto González Amador, Ayuso's partner. The ruling indicated that an email containing details of two tax crimes linked to González Amador had left the Prosecutor's Office and ended up with the Presidency of the Government, ultimately being published.

The judge has scheduled a hearing for January 29, where the Attorney General will be summoned to testify as an accused party. Alegría, however, expressed unwavering confidence in the justice system, particularly in support of the Attorney General, stating, "There is no concrete evidence pointing to him. That is why we do not agree with the decision to charge him."

The minister highlighted that the allegations originate from Ayuso's partner, who has yet to be questioned in relation to these claims. Alegría also took a moment to criticize Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, the head of Madrid's cabinet, suggesting he has propagated falsehoods and leaks to protect González Amador. "He did not hesitate to put all the resources of the Community of Madrid at his disposal to protect him," she stated.

In conclusion, Minister Alegría reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting those who strive to uphold justice and combat crime, rather than shielding those who may have violated the law.
