Napoli's Missed Opportunity: Serie A Stalemate Against Roma
Napoli faced a setback on Sunday as they missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Serie A standings, settling for a 1-1 draw against AS Roma in an away match at Stadio Olimpico.
The draw leaves Napoli with 54 points, providing a three-point cushion ahead of Inter Milan, who are in second place. AS Roma, however, remains further down the table in ninth position with just 31 points.
The visitors opened the scoring with a goal from defender Leonardo Spinazzola in the 29th minute, taking control for a significant portion of the match. Napoli's defense looked solid as they held onto their lead until the dying minutes, when disaster struck in the form of a late equalizer by Spanish defender Angelino in the 92nd minute. This late goal allowed Roma to salvage a point in their home fixture.
