Pope Francis' Health Update: Gradual Improvement After 30 Days in Hospital
Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized for 30 days at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome due to respiratory issues, is reportedly in stable condition and gradually improving. This update comes following a medical report issued by the Holy See on Saturday, which emphasized the significant progress the Pope has made over the past week.
For several days, the Vatican refrained from releasing a medical report, but the brief statement confirms that the Holy Father's clinical conditions remain stable. The report further revealed that the high-flow oxygen therapy he has been receiving is showing positive results, as his dependency on noninvasive mechanical ventilation at night is gradually decreasing.
Despite these improvements, the medical report also specifies that Pope Francis continues to require hospital medical treatment and ongoing motor and respiratory physiotherapy. This treatment plan has resulted in additional gradual advancements in his health.
This Saturday marks exactly 30 days since Pope Francis was admitted to Gemelli Hospital, where he has been receiving care for bilateral pneumonia and other respiratory complications. During the course of his hospitalization, he has faced several challenging health crises but has shown resilience and recovery in response to therapeutic interventions.
At 88 years old, Pope Francis has been under the close supervision of a medical team since his admission on February 14. Although he has not made any public appearances, he expressed his gratitude to the faithful through a message shared on March 6, acknowledging their prayers for his recovery in St. Peter's Square.
As the Pope continues to recuperate, the world watches with hope for his full recovery and return to his important role in the Catholic Church.
