PP Activates Internal Protocol Following Allegations Against Senator Landaluce

The People's Party (PP) has initiated its internal protocol in response to allegations of sexual harassment raised by MEP Alvise Pérez. These allegations involve messages purportedly from José Ignacio Landaluce, senator and mayor of Algeciras, regarding inappropriate behavior toward two councilors.

The protocol activation was confirmed by PP president Alberto Núñez Feijóo during an interview on EsRadio. He stated that the party had developed this protocol over a year ago to comply with the legal requirements established by the 'yes means yes' law. Feijóo emphasized the importance of addressing such allegations promptly, noting, "Yesterday a reference to one of our senators appeared on a network, and we immediately spoke with him and clarified this matter because we know it can happen."

Despite these actions, Feijóo refrained from providing further details on the explanations given by Landaluce or the specifics of the internal protocol itself. Notably, the protocol remains private and has not been disclosed to the press, unlike those of other political parties, leading to questions about transparency in the handling of such serious allegations.

Additionally, Feijóo did not clarify whether further procedures would follow or if the matter would be put aside, leaving many in the political sphere and the public curious about the next steps in this ongoing situation.
