Prosecution Seeks Three-Year Sentence for David Sánchez in Influence Peddling Case
The popular prosecution has launched a case against David Sánchez, the brother of the President of the Government, seeking a three-year prison sentence for multiple offenses including influence peddling, administrative prevarication, and illegal appointment. Alongside Sánchez, the prosecution has included ten other individuals in their request, notably the president of the Badajoz Provincial Council, Miguel Ángel Gallardo.
The prosecution is not only calling for jail time but is also demanding that David Sánchez repay all salaries he received during his tenure from June 2017 to February 2025. These serious allegations highlight the potential misuse of power and raise questions concerning administrative integrity within government ranks.
The official document from the popular prosecution, which has been obtained by EFE, was presented to Judge Beatriz Biedma of Instruction Court 3 in Badajoz. On April 28, Judge Biedma issued a prosecution order against the eleven individuals involved, emphasizing the gravity of the crimes of prevarication and influence peddling.
As this case unfolds, it continues to draw attention to issues of corruption within the political system. Updates on the situation are ongoing, and the public is encouraged to stay informed.
