Prosecutors Seek Dismissal of Complaints Against Judge in Begoña Gómez Case
The Prosecutor's Office has formally requested the Superior Court of Madrid to dismiss the complaint filed by Begoña Gómez and her lawyer against Judge Juan Carlos Peinado for alleged misconduct. This same prosecutor previously sought the dismissal of a complaint from the pseudounion Manos Limpias against Gómez, indicating a consistent support for her in previous legal matters.
The Public Ministry emphasized that the ongoing complaints related to Begoña Gómez, which are part of a larger investigation, should be addressed through the appeals already submitted by her. Furthermore, they noted their concerns regarding Judge Peinado's potential motivations, highlighting that the testimonial statement from the President of the Government suggested he may not have acted solely based on his judicial responsibilities. This complex legal scenario continues to unfold, raising questions about the intersections of governance, judiciary independence, and individual rights within the Spanish legal framework.
