Renowned Singer Raphael Discharged from Hospital After Stroke Scare, Diagnosed with Brain Lymphoma

Raphael, the celebrated Spanish singer, has been discharged from the Hospital 12 de Octubre after a ten-day stay that began with a health scare during a television program. Initially thought to have suffered a stroke, further evaluation revealed that Raphael is actually suffering from primary brain lymphoma, diagnosed due to two brain nodules located in the left hemisphere of his brain. Accompanied by his supportive family, including his wife Natalia Figueroa and eldest son Jacobo, Raphael emerged from the hospital smiling despite the circumstances.

His family chose to navigate the media frenzy with discretion, as Jacobo explained they decided not to lower the window to avoid causing any commotion among the throngs of journalists gathered outside. Raphael's health journey took a dramatic turn last Tuesday, December 17, during the filming of a special episode of 'La Revuelta' for RTVE, when he first displayed disorientation.

Initially treated at the San Carlos Clinical Hospital, doctors ruled out a stroke, paving the way for his transfer to the Hospital Universitario Doce de Octubre—the same facility where Raphael successfully underwent a liver transplant in 2003. The medical team dedicated significant time and resources to run a series of analyses and tests, leading to the conclusion that Raphael has begun treatment for his primary brain lymphoma as an outpatient.

As a consequence of his diagnosis, Raphael's concert schedule has been impacted significantly. Concerts planned for early 2025 across the United States, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Mexico have been canceled, as well as his special Madrid performances originally set for December 20 and 21. Though these may be challenging times for the artist, his resilient spirit remains evident as he embarks on his treatment while surrounded by his loved ones.
