Success Beyond Television: A Call for Realism in the Fame Game
Íñigo, a former contestant of the first edition of Big Brother, shared his thoughts on TikTok regarding the reaction to Lucas Curotto, who was the fifth finalist in OT 2023, working as a waiter. He stated that everyone must forge ahead and continue living. He recalled a moment in his own life when he realized that he couldn't rely solely on music to make a living. Therefore, he sought work to support himself while pursuing his passion.
Íñigo expressed his frustration over the backlash Lucas received, stating, "People are shocked to learn that Lucas from 'Operación Triunfo' is working as a waiter. So what if he is? It’s like when I said I was studying in the library and people acted as if it was the end of the world."
He emphasized that many associate success solely with television, neglecting the personal goals and objectives one sets for themselves. Just because someone has been on television does not mean they should live off its fame. Íñigo explained that despite their time in the spotlight, he and others continue to engage in everyday jobs.
He further added, “We've created a frenzy to become TV collaborators, to stay glued to screens. But the true measure of success isn’t about fame; it’s about personal goals.”
Íñigo concluded with a strong statement dismissing the stigma attached to those who work regular jobs, saying, “So let’s stop with the nonsense about whether Lucas works as a waiter or if someone else works at Zara or McDonald's. It’s absurd to think that way.”
As society continues to glorify television fame, it becomes essential to shed light on the reality that success encompasses a variety of paths—not just the glitzy allure of celebrity culture.
