Sudan's RSF Attacks Leave 124 Civilians Dead Amid Ongoing Conflict

In a grim development from Sudan, the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has reportedly killed at least 124 civilians in a brutal attack on the village of al-Suhra, situated in the Al-Jazirah state, which borders the capital Khartoum. This shocking incident was revealed by a network of doctors monitoring the situation on the ground. The report also highlights that dozens of residents sustained injuries during this assault.

The violence and chaos perpetrated by the RSF have led to the displacement of hundreds of residents from the affected region. In the days leading up to this attack, the RSF has also launched assaults on surrounding villages, further escalating the already dire humanitarian situation.

Medical facilities, pharmacies, markets, and shops have not been spared in the wake of these assaults, with reports of widespread looting and destruction. The ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has seen the country plunged into turmoil since April 2023, has involved a power struggle between military leaders. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who heads the army, and his former deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, the leader of the RSF, have been at the center of this violent clash for control.

As the conflict continues to unfold, the plight of civilians remains a pressing concern, with international calls for accountability and protection for those caught in the crossfire.
