Supreme Court Judge Calls for Investigation into Leaked Civil Guard Report Involving Madrid Prosecutors

Supreme Court judge Ángel Hurtado has taken significant steps to address the leaking of sensitive information from a report by the Civil Guard. This report contained private messages exchanged by State Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz and Madrid's chief prosecutor, Pilar Rodríguez. Judge Hurtado's inquiry comes amid ongoing investigations into both prosecutors for potentially revealing confidential information related to the personal life of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the President of the Community of Madrid, and her boyfriend.

The decision to initiate inquiries in Madrid's courts follows a request from García Ortiz, with the aim of scrutinizing the circumstances surrounding the leaked report. Judge Hurtado has agreed to provide testimony and will forward complaints from both the Attorney General and the provincial chief prosecutor. These complaints pertain to the unauthorized dissemination of information from a report produced by the Civil Guard's Central Operational Unit (UCO), dated November 21, which delved into messages sent by Pilar Rodríguez after data was extracted from her personal mobile phone.

In a parallel development, Judge Hurtado has also decided to address another complaint filed by Alberto González Amador, the boyfriend of Isabel Díaz Ayuso. Amador has raised concerns over the leaking of classified information within the case.

This situation highlights growing concerns over privacy, the integrity of the judicial process, and the potential misuse of confidential information by public officials. As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen what implications this may have for the involved parties and for the trust placed in Madrid’s legal institutions.
