The Rise of Millionaires Worldwide: A Look at the Latest Data

According to new data from consulting firm Capgemini, there has been a significant increase in the number of millionaires worldwide with increasingly larger fortunes. The World Wealth Report 2024 reveals that there are now 228 million rich individuals with freely investable capital of at least one million dollars. Collectively, these millionaires possess a staggering 868 trillion dollars. KlausGeorg Meyer of Capgemini in Frankfurt highlighted that both the number of millionaires and their wealth have reached record figures. The figures, which refer to 2023, show the highest increases in North America, where the number of millionaires rose by 71 percent to 79 million, with a corresponding wealth of 275 trillion dollars. Europe also saw increases, with around four percent growth in both the number of millionaires - now at 58 million - and their total wealth, amounting to 189 trillion dollars. These statistics offer an interesting perspective on the distribution of wealth among individual countries, showcasing the growth and concentration of millionaires globally.
