Three Arrested Following Explosions Near Israeli Embassy in Copenhagen
Copenhagen police have arrested three individuals in connection with two explosions that occurred near the Israeli Embassy early this morning at approximately 3:20 AM. The arrests were confirmed by the Copenhagen Police on social media platform X.
Two of the suspects were apprehended during a significant police operation at Copenhagen Central Station on Wednesday afternoon, while the third individual was arrested at an unspecified location within the city.
Witnesses at the scene reported a massive police presence at the station. A correspondent from JyllandsPosten interviewed a witness who chose to remain anonymous and described the hectic atmosphere. The witness recounted that while at the ticket office to renew a travel card, a police officer entered and displayed a photograph of a man to the DSB employee working at the ticket counter. The officer inquired whether the employee had sold tickets to the individual in the picture.
According to the witness, the ticket seller confirmed that he had just sold two tickets to Amsterdam to the man referenced by the officer. In response to this information, multiple police officers proceeded towards tracks 5 and 6, which heightened the sense of urgency and concern amongst those present.
As investigations continue, authorities have urged anyone with information related to the explosions to come forward. The repercussions of these incidents remain a significant concern for public safety and international relations in the region.
