Tragic School Shooting in Bosnia Leaves Three Dead, One Injured

In a shocking incident on August 21, a shooting at a high school in Sanski Most, a town in northwestern Bosnia, has resulted in the deaths of three individuals and serious injuries to another. The police from the Una Sana canton confirmed to RFE/RL that the assailant, who was an employee at the school, opened fire on three other school employees using an automatic rifle. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries among students during this tragic event.

Among the deceased was the school's director, highlighting the profound impact this incident has had on the local community.

In a desperate act, the attacker attempted to take his own life during the rampage but was unsuccessful. He has since been transferred to the Banja Luka University Clinical Center, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
