Tragic Submarine Incident Claims Lives of Russian Tourists in Egypt

At least four Russians have died after a tourist submarine sank off the coast of Hurghada, Egypt, on March 27. The Russian embassy in Egypt has confirmed that all 45 tourists aboard the Sindbad were Russian citizens, with officials reporting four fatalities while the fate of several others remains uncertain. It remains unclear where the crew was from or whether they were amongst the deceased. Most of those on board have been rescued and subsequently taken to their hotels and hospitals in Hurghada, according to a statement from the embassy. Local officials have reported that six people died and nine were injured in the incident, though details on the cause of the submarine's sinking at this popular Red Sea resort are still not known.
