Tragic Workplace Accident in Valencia Claims Three Lives and Leaves Four Injured

A tragic workplace accident occurred in Benifairó de les Valls, Valencia, on Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of three people and injuries to four others. The incident took place when a truck experienced brake failure, collided with two vans, and subsequently ran over several workers who were tending to a local vegetable garden.

Emergency services received the first alert around 4:00 PM from the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU), detailing that a truck with brake issues had hit multiple individuals. Municipal sources informed Europa Press that the accident involved a truck from an orange collection company that encountered brake problems on a narrow and steep path in the garden area, leading to a catastrophic outcome for several workers present at the site.

In response to the emergency, the CICU promptly deployed a medical helicopter alongside two SAMUR units, two Basic Life Support (SVB) units, and a Primary Care medical team to assist with the situation. Upon arrival, medical personnel began treating the injured victims, who sustained varying degrees of injury and were subsequently transferred to different hospitals for further evaluation and care.

The provincial firefighting consortium from Valencia also dispatched personnel, including a sergeant from La Pobla de Farnals, to assist at the scene of the incident. As the community grapples with the aftermath of this tragic event, authorities are likely to conduct an investigation to determine the factors that contributed to the truck's failure and to ensure the safety of workers in the area.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers faced in workplace environments and highlights the critical importance of maintaining equipment and ensuring proper safety measures are in place to prevent future accidents.
