Two Teenagers Arrested in Riccione for Alleged Rape of 16-Year-Old
On Thursday, Carabinieri officers from Riccione arrested two youths, aged 17 and 18, in connection with the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl. The incident reportedly took place on the evening of August 5, after which the victim was left on the street, prompting her to call for help.
Following her distress call, the girl was taken to a hospital in Rimini under a special protocol known as the 'pink code,' which is reserved for victims of violence in emergency situations. Medical professionals examined her and found injuries consistent with those typically associated with rape. In addition to providing care for the victim, doctors also collected DNA samples that eventually enabled law enforcement to identify the two suspects.
Surveillance footage from a security camera captured the two assailants leaving the scene in a car shortly after the incident. Both suspects are residents of Fano, located in the province of Pesaro and Rimini. They are currently in custody, awaiting formal validation of their arrests by judicial authorities.
This case underscores the ongoing fight against violence towards women and highlights the importance of swift action by law enforcement and medical personnel in such critical situations. The investigation continues as authorities gather more evidence to ensure justice for the victim.
