Viral Message in Times Square: Valencian Coalition Calls Out President Mazón
A video circulating on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter, has captured attention with a striking display in Times Square, New York City. The footage showcases a giant image of Carlos Mazón, the president of the Valencian Community, juxtaposed against a backdrop of a devastated Valencia. The message emblazoned across the screen reads: 'We have 228 reasons for you not to return.'
This bold initiative stems from the Valencianist coalition Compromís, who decided to send a clear message to Mazón during his business trip to New York. They stated, 'This is how we welcome Carlos Mazón in New York; however far he hides, we will remind him of the clamor of the Valencian people.'
The impactful tweet from Compromís has quickly garnered thousands of views and interactions, resonating widely among followers and drawing attention to the coalition's concerns about Mazón's leadership.
In a follow-up post, Vicent Marzà, a Member of the European Parliament from the same party, echoed the sentiments expressed in the original message. He criticized Mazón for allegedly avoiding the scrutiny of his constituents, stating, 'Mazón continues to run away from his people and from justice. Now he has gone to New York to avoid facing the people in Alicante.'
Marzà reinforced Compromís' stance by emphasizing, 'Today we made it clear to him as well, in Times Square.'
This incident highlights growing tensions between the Valencian leadership and the public, as constituents express their dissatisfaction with Mazón's governance. As social media continues to amplify these grievances, it remains to be seen how this bold message will impact Mazón upon his return to Spain.
