Vox President Defends Party Leadership Change in Madrid
Santiago Abascal, the president of Vox, addressed the recent leadership transition in the Madrid branch, framing it as a standard internal procedure. He emphasized that the appointment of José Antonio Fúster as the new president of Vox in Madrid, succeeding Rocío Monasterio, is a normal evolution within the party structure. Abascal assured supporters that there are no internal conflicts or controversies surrounding this change, insisting that it reflects ongoing adjustments aimed at enhancing the party's effectiveness.
Rocío Monasterio will continue in her role as a spokesperson in the Assembly, allowing her to maintain focus on legislative responsibilities while Fúster steps into a leadership role designed to invigorate the party's territorial organization in Madrid.
Abascal was firm in his message, noting that Vox continues to make strategic decisions for the betterment of the party, asserting that this is typical for Vox, in contrast to other political parties where such changes may lead to public discord. He expressed confidence that the media and political opposition would attempt to stir controversy from the situation, but reiterated that for Vox, changes in leadership are simply part of ongoing development and should not be misconstrued as a sign of division within the party.
